M&A Into Overdrive
There is a great article in Saturday’s Times (1 August 2015) written by Deirdre Hipwell, entitled ‘The heat is on as M&A goes into overdrive’.
Apparently, the value of deals completed in July was the second highest July on record and the UK accounted for 4.7% of this, making it the fourth largest deal doing nation. Germany ranked second (China being third) with a 5.3% share, the mighty US M&A machine accounting for 67% of global deal value for that month.
What does that mean for owner managers of small and medium sized businesses ?
Simply this: for those contemplating a sale, market conditions are good and so is the capital tax regime.
